PR No, No – LCEC rep shoots from the hip

by Marissa Sweazy on February 9, 2010

Thanks to @prsarahevans for tweeting this story today. The PR woman for LCEC should be totally embarrassed. I’m sure this is taking a toll on her as I have been there before and dealing with situations like these can be draining..but be sure to watch all the way to the end where she says that her answering these questions is costing customers! LCEC needs to send the CEO out to the cameras (i.e. with a press conference or statement) and just admit to being wrong. Their first mistake in this instance is that they are sending their PR rep out their obviously with little to no preparation. In stead of going on camera and shooting from the hip (i.e. looking like an idiot) their team should take a step back and create a PLAN! People this isn’t that hard.

When problems are brought to light, executives at these types of companies need to step up and say, “yes, we were doing this wrong” or “No, this is our policy and this is why…” either have a valid and explainable reason for something or change your policy.
